Elementary Age Readers at the Library
Katie Readfern, the Children’s Librarian presents three programs; Lil Book Worms, Teddy Bear Tea Party & Story Times.
1. Lil Book Worms
Lil Book Worms read aloud groups will start meeting at the end of October. There will be three separate groups that meet at different times to hear a story from the children’s librarian. An age appropriate chapter book/novel will be selected and read aloud to the group. We will do a chapter or two a week. Worms in grades 6th & 7th will meet Mondays at 4 pm beginning October 25th, worms in grades 3rd – 5th will meet Thursdays at 6 pm, and worms in the 1st & 2nd grade will meet every other Saturday at 3 pm beginning November 6th. 2. Teddy Bear Tea Party at Southworth Library
Moms, Daughters & Grandmas bring you teddy & the little girl in your life & come join in our teddy bear tea party fun! On Saturday November 6th at 1 pm the library will host this tea party for little girls of all ages. Any combination of Moms, Stepmoms, Grandmothers, Aunts, or any special adult female in your little girl’s life is more than welcome to attend! 3. Story Times at Southworth Library
The library offers a variety of story times throughout the week. Story time for ages 3 -5 is on Monday & Thursday mornings at 10 am. Wee Read Together for baby to age 3 is on Tuesday & Wednesday mornings at 10 am. On Thursday evenings at 7 pm we offer a special Pajama Story Time for all ages & welcome children to wear the pj’s to the library. Parents/guardians required to stay in the library during story times; those accompanying the littlest tykes (baby to 2) are asked to stay in the story time room if necessary.
