Anti-Bullying Campaign at DMS
This month the students at DMS will be participating in several activities as part of our Safe School Initiative. Linda Pacheco from the Bristol County Sheriff’s Department will be presenting their Anti-Bullying curriculum to our students. Student from each grade level will attend an assembly for one period on November 15th. In the days after the assemblies student will take part in a survey and listen to daily anti-bullying announcements from their peers. The campaign will culminate in an Anti-Bullying Day which is an extension of our RARE Program at DMS. On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving students will wear blue to show solidarity with our anti-bullying campaign. Then throughout the entire day they will participate in various activities and challenges in both their academic and special area classes. In addition to this, Mr. Rossi, along with the health teachers, have developed a curriculum to deal with the issues of bullying and harassment in the students’ health and physical education classes.

Thankful Students
Also this month our newly elected class representatives will be collecting money and food items for some of the needy families in our community. Students were allowed to wear a hat in school on Friday, November 12th, if they donated $1 to our Thanksgiving Day Fund. Each homeroom was challenged to collect enough money for a $25 food gift certificate and enough food and supplies for a Thanksgiving Day meal. Great Job Class Reps!!
